Yusupov Palace is the Surname princely residence, the Museum of noble life, Regional teacher’s house, St. Petersburg Palace of culture for educators, historical-cultural Palace complex Federal and European fame… two and a half centuries the purpose and status of the old town mansion on the Moika was changed several times.

The genus of the Yusupovs were one of the richest families in Russia, this Palace on the Moika was bought in 1830 by Duke Boris Nikolayevich Yusupov and before the revolution it was owned by five generations of the Yusupovs.

The most impressive room in Yusupov palace is theatre. This theatre is small but luxury and elegant. Many famous people such as Fedor Shalyapin, Franz Liszt, Sergey Esenin, Anna Pavlova played here.


Also this palace is worl-famous, because G.Rasputin was killed here in 1916. And there is the ExpositionThe Murder Of Grigory Rasputin”  in this Palace.
